The name Sollux was chosen by his parents, who are interested in astrology. It references both the two brightest stars in the constellation Gemini—Pollux and Castor, and the Latin names for “sun” and “light.” They decided on this name after noticing their son's heterochromia. Sollux dislikes meeting new people. Outside of his group of friends, he has virtually no interest in the ways of others. He finds it both tiring and bothersome. The main thing he does in his spare time is to do with his computer. Coding or video gaming, Sollux loves his technology. He is quite gangly and underweight—not a brawny guy, to say the least. This comes from choosing to eliminate exercising from his life. He has a thing for honey. Don't ask him why, but there's something about the heavenly liquid that makes him want to cover anything in it. He needs others to look after him, sometimes, though, he would never admit to it. Per example, he does not eat as often or sleep as much as he should, getting caught up in his computing work. Often thinks of many of his companions as obnoxious. However, he loves and cares for them just as much as he detests them. He finds it incredibly hilarious to install a harmless virus on others’ computers as pranks. He is an incredible video gamer, as well, but he is always up for a multiplayer game to crush his opponents at. Not really into the whole romance deal as some. He just doesn’t see himself in a relationship as something healthy. Sollux is a bit afraid of lashing out at his partner, since his bipolar disorder is triggered easily. Plus, many of the other kids don’t find enough time to really get to know him, as he wishes people would. Sollux's hair is incredibly thin and short. He can't stand the feeling of bangs in his face, either. His sexuality is kept a secret from everyone except Feferi. He looks to her almost like a sister, and would trust her with his life. He loves music almost as much as games and whatnot. You'll often find him doing both at once. He will listen to just about anything, but his favourite genres are electronica--especially dubstep--and metal. He actually has two dads as parents. He goes ballistic when people decide to bring it up just to be dicks about it. He loves his older brother Mituna like any sibling should. They have their differences, and they can get annoyed with each other, but he, also, looks up to him. After all, he had enough sense to save Sollux's life, when they got into a car accident. Sollux and his group of friends want to stick together as long as possible. Because of this, they decided on a strange system (obviously based on the quadrants.) Of course they are allowed to date (matespritship) if it will not throw off the balance; allowed to have individual best friends (moirailegiance) that they deem closest to them. They usually will end up with a rival of sorts (kismesissitude), being stuck so close together for so long; they all have a duty to one another to be a mediator (auspisticism) for a pair of rivals that get too out of hand.Likes
